open―talks is a series of talks conceived by the South London Gallery and Camberwell College of Arts. For this presentation artist Laure Prouvost revisited her film It, Heat, Hit (2010) and the resulting project 8 Responses.

8 Responses was a project where Laure asked me (me!) to host a performative workshop in order to get participants to respond to her film through drawing. The workshop was publicised through thousands of photocopied posters, littered throughout Camberwell.

Later, 8 chosen responses were screenprinted onto silk handkerchiefs, forming part of an Artist’s edition made for the event.

Following this was an in-conversation between the artist and Anna Goetz, Assistant Curator at the MMK Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt.
